This is an accessibility statement from SafeLend Canada Ltd.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. WCAG defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

www.safelend.ca is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We have remediated all issues identified by automated testing and detailed source-code review across our marketing pages and both the pre-approval and apply funnels, and we have verified keyboard operability, colour contrast, use at 200% text zoom, reflow down to a 320 CSS-pixel viewport, and compatibility with user text-spacing overrides. The remaining gap is assistive-technology compatibility, which has been reviewed at the code level but not yet independently audited with a screen reader.

Known limitations

The following items have not yet been independently verified. We are not aware of specific defects in these areas, but we cannot yet claim full conformance until validation is complete. If you encounter any barriers in any of these areas, please contact us — your feedback directly informs our remediation roadmap.

  • Assistive-technology compatibility (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver): our ARIA implementation, semantic landmarks, live regions, focus management, and form-error association have been reviewed against the WAI-ARIA specification, but a comprehensive screen-reader run-through across the multi-step pre-approval and apply funnels has not yet been performed; it is planned after launch.

Assessment approach

SafeLend Canada Ltd. assessed the accessibility of www.safelend.ca through the following approaches:

  • Automated accessibility testing with axe-core — an industry-standard accessibility testing engine — across all page templates and both funnels, at mobile and desktop viewports. Google Lighthouse accessibility audits (which are built on axe-core) also run automatically on every code change, so accessibility is re-checked continuously.
  • Detailed source-code review against the applicable WCAG 2.1 Level A and Level AA success criteria, covering semantic structure, keyboard operation and focus management, ARIA usage, and form labelling and error handling.
  • A full validation pass on the deployed build: an axe-core sweep across every template and all steps of both funnels on the fully-rendered page, plus manual verification of resize and reflow behaviour at 200% text zoom and a 320 CSS-pixel viewport, compatibility with user text-spacing overrides, and keyboard operation with visible focus.
  • We are evaluating an independent third-party audit, including assistive-technology testing, to validate the items listed under Known Limitations.
